Long range planning and bond issues and promotion of Richmond International Airport
Scope
Established in 1975 by an act of the Virginia General Assembly, the Capital Region Airport Commission owns and operates Richmond International Airport (RIC) and is the administrative authority. The Commission directs the growth, operation, and business activities of RIC, which has served central Virginia's air travel needs since 1927 and continually strives to improve the quality of air service provided to all travelers in and around the Greater Richmond Region. The Capital Region Airport Commission is composed of representatives of the Counties of Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico and the City of Richmond.
